Who are WML
Warship Management Limited (W.M.L.) was set in October 2006 to negotiate the purchase and movement of HMS Plymouth from the Mersey Docks and Harbour Company (M.D.H.C.) in Birkenhead to Trinity pier, Millbay, Plymouth, in time for the 25th anniversary of the Falklands conflict. HMS Plymouth has a chapel dedicated to the seamen that lost their lives in that war.
The initial idea was to bypass the lengthy grant funding route and find a small group of people to fund the purchase and move. These investors would eventually be repaid by a trust set up to manage the ship.
WML hasĀ 3 directors, Chairman Mike Critchley (Lt Cdr, RN retired), Owner of Maritime books and publisher of Warship World and company secretary Ian Stockdale, partner and producer, Thirdman T.V. (a multimedia production business) and Richard Holme a partner in the firm of Creaseys Chartered Accountants.
